Pokhara IV is a 4 day mountain bike stage race based entirely around the lakeside city of Pokhara.

Each stage will take riders on a different loop out into the Himalayan foothills on trails rarely ridden, all of which give outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.

After completing each stage riders return to the same hotel and can enjoy all the luxuries on offer in the tourist enclave of Lakeside Pokhara.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1
Route: Kathmandu to Pokhara

11th February

Coach transfer from Kathmandu to Pokhara for riders and bikes. Stop at river side lodge en route for lunch.
Transfer time approx 8 hours.

Stage 1
Route: Fewa Lake Loop - 43km. 1500m ascent

Stage 1 – February 12th 2018

Stage 1 of Pokhara IV takes riders to the east of Pokhara around Fewa Lake and the landmark of Santi Stupa.
The day will start with a 7km group ride out to the start (and finish) gate for the day.
Todays course climbs and criss crosses the mountains surrounding the prominent Stupa before descending on some awesome singletrack back down to the lakeside and a cool down 7km ride back to the hotel.

Stage 2
Route: Kristi Hill Loop - 55km, 1750m ascent

Stage 2 – February 13th 2018

Stage 2 of the Pokhara IV starts with a 5km group ride to the start and finish line.
The trail is 2 loops with the second loop being much tougher than the first, with some really steep climbs rewarded with awesome views across to snowcapped mountains.

Stage 3
Route: Begnas Lake loop - 56km, 1880m ascent

Stage 3 – February 14th 2018

Stage 3 of Pokara IV is the longest of all 4 with a total distance of nearly 100km including the 15km ride to the start line.
Todays course starts from beautiful Begnas lake and climbs up to Kalika top before descending via a different route back down to Begnas and a loop around Rupa lake on undulating trails.
There’s plenty of time for the legs to recover after the race with an easy 15km spin on flat road back to the hotel.

Stage 4
Route: Bat Cave Loop - 45km, 1550m ascent

Stage 4 – February 15th 2018

For the final stage of Pokara IV 2018 we will be starting and finishing from the south side of Pokhara , approx 10km from our hotel, at the famous Mahindra Cave. Todays course also consists of 2 loops which takes riders through some rarely visited rural villages.

There should be time to explore the caves before embarking on the 10km return ride to the hotel where post race celebrations will commence once everybody has returned.

Day 6
Route: Pokhara to Kathmandu

16th February 2018

Coach transfer from Pokhara to Kathmandu for riders and bikes. Stop at a river side lodge en route for lunch.
Transfer time approx 8 hours.
